South America’s first luxury sleeper train

Back to Orient Express in South America? Now it’s going to be possible with South America’s first luxury sleeper train – The Belmond Andean Explorer.

The train’s interior was designed by London-based Muza-Lab, inspired by the local Peruvian culture and landscape.  The 16-carriage train was originally the Great South Pacific Express. The sleeper cabins were designed to provide a luxurious travel experience. In addition to comfort, designers put attention on using fine materials such as soft leather, baby alpaca blankets. Even the smallest detail speaks to the country’s rich culture – vibrant colors and varying textures are found throughout the train thanks to the various Peruvian crafts and artistry that were found locally.
