Maxwan Architects designed a contemporary conversion of an old barn in Geldermalsen, The Netherlands. The clients bought and old barn and their wish was to create an open living-kitchen space, where they would be able to host their guests and organize wine tasting sessions for their customers.
This barn had been already extended by previous owners, adding 10 meters, in two floors. The architects moved office and storage space to occupy the extintion and private space into old barn. They also designed a large slit in the roof to bring more light and very noticable pice of furniture that serves as kitchen, storage, stairs and library all at once.
